Committees & Projects

The UN has a number of ways you can participate and make an impact on downtown life - just contact any of the committee chairs listed below.    

If you're passionate about a downtown topic that is not shown here then let us know at okc-un@urbanneighbors.org.  We'll help you start a committee.


Membership Committee
Welcomes new members, develops membership recruitment campaigns, collects feedback about concerns and issues important to members.  Chair - Bose' Akadiri


Social Committee
Organizes monthly social meetings and other events such as Wine Dinners, Bowling League, etc.  Chair - Holly Shelton  



Marketing Committee

Promotes and publicizes the UN, maintains the UN website.  Chair - Paige Gregory

Bike Rack Committee
Detailed info linked to the right.  A joint ad-hoc committee with Downtown OKC, works to implement the Rack Up Downtown! Project that is primarily funded by a City of OKC Neighborhood Partnership Grant.  Co-Chair - Mark Gibbs


Safety and Health Committee
Working to help improve the Downtown quality of life. Co-Chairs - Trey Holmes & Linda Marshall



 

Downtown Transportation Committee
Looks at ways to make Downtown more green, including more effective public transportation.  Chair - Nate Size

Quiet Zone Committee
Developing relationships and studying ways of reducing train horn noise at Downtown railroad crossings.  Chair - Mark Huston

Improved Trolley Routes
